PSC Info Group's Return Mail Management Service is the most robust solution for handling return mail after the USPS has attempted delivery. Our Return Mail Management Program reduces the costs and delays associated with undeliverable mail.
Look at all the ways your organization will benefit:
- Reduced costs associated with mailing additional notices to invalid addresses (save on processing, labor, postage, paper, envelopes, etc.).
- Enhanced processing of returned mail.
- Improved collections efficiency due to timelier processing of undeliverable mail.
- Reduced costs related to labor resources spent on managing return mail internally.
As part of this service, the undelivered mail is sent to a PSC-hosted, but client-specific Post Office Box. PSC scans the returned mail and captures your Account Number data using our Return Mail Scanning Service program. The file containing this data is transmitted back to you in an agreed upon format so you can use this information to update your address files on your internal computer system.
PSC offers three levels of return mail management:
Basic Return Mail: PSC sends a file listing account numbers of mail pieces returned. This file is sent electronically as returns are gathered on a pre-determined time schedule (weekly, daily, etc.).
Return Mail Plus: PSC sends a file listing account number, name, address and any other information required by the client. This file is sent electronically as returns are gathered on a scheduled basis. The file format is custom developed for each client to ensure ease of use.
Return Mail Plus Update: In addition to providing the same service as Return Mail Plus, PSC will run all returns through our advanced address search program prior to sending the file listing back to you.
PSC will also return all "White Mail" to you. White Mail includes mail that was misaddressed by the sender to the return mail address rather than to the proper remittance or reply address. These items would be sent to the client via next day courier at whatever frequency is desired.
